About Us

We create board games inspired by the worlds we love, mythology, history, fantasy, and science fiction.

We are a small and hands-on team, and we develop each project with focus and respect for its theme.

The story of

Alcyon Creative

Since our first release, we’ve worked across different genres like cooperative adventures, competitive strategy titles, solo-friendly systems, and compact card games. Many of our projects were supported through crowdfunding, and we’re grateful for the trust our community has shown us over the years.

Looking Ahead

We continue to explore new ideas, both historical and fictional. Whatever the scale, each project begins the same way: with curiosity, careful design, and the hope of creating something worth returning to.

How we Work

Most of our games begin with an idea or setting we find interesting — a myth, a historical moment, or a world we’re building from scratch. Before any mechanics take shape, we spend time understanding the tone we want the game to carry.

From there, we prototype quickly, test often, and refine steadily. We prefer practical, incremental progress over dramatic leaps; the goal is always a game that feels clear, engaging, and honest in its design.

What Matters to Us

We value games that are approachable yet rewarding to revisit. Clear rules, intuitive components, and meaningful decisions guide our design choices.

Being independent allows us to work at a pace that fits each project, collaborate directly with artists and writers, and stay closely involved from first draft to finished copy.

Our stance on AI

We strongly believe that creativity is a human virtue unable to be replicated or substituted by technological means. At Alcyon Creative we do not use AI in the development and implementation of our games.

Meet the Team

pfp7
Georgios Georgiadis
Εnjoys strategy, but is suspiciously vulnerable to shiny components, impressive table presence, and anything that looks like it needs “just one more expansion” provided the miniatures don’t distract him first.

Worker placement: Lords of Waterdeep

Miniatures/Tactical Combat: Star Wars: Imperial Assault

pfp8
Ioannis Stamatis
A full-time graphic designer, part-time Game Master, and lifelong gamer, he helps shape the visual direction of Alcyon’s games. He likes games that give players freedom, danger, and plenty of opportunities to make questionable choices.

Campaign/Legacy games: Gloomhaven

Cooperative games: Pandemic: World of Warcraft

pfp1
Apostolis Tiggeridis
Sharp-minded and detail-oriented, has a natural feel for good business and careful planning. At the table, he enjoys making ambitious plans and watching the dice politely ignore them.

Resource management: Agricola

Card Drafting: 7 Wonders

pfp5
Kostis Tolios
His playstyle is somewhere between a soulslike boss fight and a roguelike run: fail, learn, adapt, and pretend it was the plan. He believes that “one more try” sounds like a perfectly reasonable life choice.

Roguelike: One Deck Dungeon

Dungeon Crawler: LotR: Journeys in Middle Earth

pfp2
Konstantinos Iovis
Still buys board games faster than he can play them, but remains convinced his kids will help someday. His usual excuse is that he’s too busy designing games, which is technically not a solution, but does make the pile of shame feel more professional.

Asymmetric Strategy: Root

4X: Civilization: A New Dawn

pfp3
Lefteris Iroglidis
A veteran gamer at heart, always looking for that perfect mix of theme, tension, and fun.

Wargames: Hannibal: Rome vs Carthage

Adventure: Nemesis

pfp9
George Triantafyllou
All around gamer, TTRPG aficionado and musician, doodling with designs and bringing the rhythm to the team's creative lab.

Adventure: Descent: Journeys in the Dark
Eurogame/Narrative: Above and Below

pfp6
Ilias Iovis
Artist, resident TTRPG enthusiast and designer, tinkering with the digital side of things.

Narrative: The Zone RPG

Card Game: Gloom 2nd Edition
